Jen Allen

Jen Allen is a dynamic pianist, composer, author, and educator known for her powerful artistry and imaginative vision. She performs across the U.S. and internationally, appearing at renowned festivals and venues such as the Winnipeg Jazz Festival, Cambridge Festival of the Arts, Birdland, and the Wexford Performing Arts Centre in Ireland. She has collaborated with respected artists including Don Braden, Jimmy Greene, Camille Thurman, and Sarah Caswell, and has released acclaimed recordings such as Pieces of Myself and Sifting Grace.

Jen’s compositions bridge jazz, classical, and contemporary forms, and span from string quartets and studio orchestras to immersive multimedia experiences. Her 2018 residency at St. Peter’s Church in NYC and her original work Collective Breath demonstrate her commitment to connecting music with emotion and reflection. In fall 2025, she will release her next album Possibilities, further expanding her unique musical voice.

A dedicated educator, Jen holds degrees from The Hartt School and UMass Amherst, and serves on the faculties of Trinity College and Bennington College. She has earned honors such as the 2023 Artistic Excellence Award from the Connecticut Artist Fellowship Program and the 2024 Greenstage Artist Award. Her co-authored book Sitting In: Jazz Piano was recognized by Music Inc. Magazine, and she continues to inspire students through her teaching, workshops, and masterclasses around the world.
