Zaccai Curtis- ‘Cubop Lives!’ On Solar Latin CLub
Pianist, composer and arranger Zaccai Curtis presented his new album, Cubop Lives! , through his collective and music label Truth Revolution Recording Collective, Cubop Lives! as its name indicates, presents the marriage between Cuban music and bebop, a tribute, in turn, to the greats like Machito, Bauza, Dizzy Gillispie and of course, Chano Pozo. The result is Cubop Lives!, a clear allusion to the title Bird Lives! by Charlie Parker - which features the acclaimed pianist alongside a quintet, complemented by Williw Martinez (drums, vocals, timpani), Camilo Molina (percussion), Reinaldo De Jesus (percussion, drums) and his brother, Luques Curtis (bass).
